Udo Schliemann’s career spans over 43 years as a graphic designer and artist. For Udo there is no separation between free and applied art. His artistic work informs his corporate graphic design and vice versa. Often, his corporate designs include an artistic element that elevates a program or installation beyond the pure functional and utilitarian aspect.


While art is often an imitation or abstraction of phenomena; Udo’s work is not representational. He focuses on simplicity, geometric compositions, the emotional value in the interaction of colour and its rational distribution in search of beauty and universal truth.


A native of Germany, Udo graduated from the Technical College for Design in Würzburg in 1982 and started his career at the design studio Stankowski+Duschek in Stuttgart. In 1999, Udo continued his career at Gottschalk+Ash International in Toronto and in 2011 joined Entro as Principal…
